Are you a front-to-back warper or back-to-front? Have you mastered one but wonder whether the other method is better, faster or easier? Do you struggle with any warping method and would like some tips? For this challenge, I’ll split the class into two teams. Each will focus on one of the two methods primarily, but everyone will have a chance to sample threading and sleying for both methods to see how it feels. We will move along quickly, stopping for me to demo the steps for each method. After both warps are tied onto the front apron rod and ready for weaving (or 7:30pm, whichever comes first), we will review and discuss the techniques; share tips, tricks or tools that we all have picked up along the way; and review weaving situations where one method may offer advantages over the other. Wear comfortable clothes and bring your favorite beverage to stay hydrated (non-alcoholic please).
