Moving beyond traditional embroidery stitches, this workshop will focus on creating expressive embroideries using marks typically associated with painting and drawing. We’ll start the workshop exploring some basic drawing concepts on paper. After generating a handful of ideas and quick sketches, students will spend the rest of the time learning how to translate these drawings into embroidered works on fabric. No previous drawing or embroidery experience required. Open to all skill levels.
