Dyeing fibers with natural plant dyes is a fun, safe, and ecologically sustainable way of obtaining beautiful colors for your textiles. Learn how to do it yourself! We will go through the dyeing process step-by-step, and discuss the materials and the tools of the trade. We will also discuss various ways of obtaining your dyes: harvesting them from the wild, growing them in your garden, picking them up at your grocery produce aisle, or ordering them online. In this class, we'll dye some wool and silk, and participants get to bring samples home.
