Getting Green
Green is one of the hardest colors to get with Natural Dyes but by overdyeing indigo with a yellow dye you can get a range of lovely greens. Post dye modification with iron gives even more possibilities. We will use the samples that we dyed with indigo in our March meeting to overdye with a variety of yellow dyes: weld, marigold and osage.
What to bring: Marigolds if you have some dried from last year, we will have weld and osage on hand. As usual: notebook, apron, some handwork to work on during down time, any show and tell, as well as any books, magazines, websites, podcasts, events you have come across to share with the group.
Looking forward to seeing you.
