V- Madder Magic: Dyeing with Madder Root

Madder root is the gift that keeps giving. This natural pigment is found in the red roots of the madder plant. We will trace the history of this pigment and discuss how to extract orange, red, and pink tone’s from nature’s red root. We will cover mordanting, pH modification, and other natural dyeing basics. Everyone will walk away from our first virtual tutorial with color swatches, dyed roving, and the natural dyeing knowledge needed to explore the array of pigments nature has to offer.
