Come meet Marcia Kummerle, Owner of Good Fibrations, Angora Goat Farmer and Artisan. Marcia will take you through the process of her goat-to-garment ideology: raising her angora goats, having their fiber spun into yarn, then hand-painting the skeins. She then weaves some of her yarn into beautiful shawls. Marcia will teach you about the history of angora goats being raised for fiber, the advantages and eccentricities of mohair before demonstrating her dying techniques. Participants will be able to hand paint one of Marcia’s skeins along with their choice of roving or locks. This workshop will be held outdoors at Marcia’s farm in Barnardsville.

Level: Beginning

Materials Fee: $40  includes 1 skein of yarn and choice of piece of roving or locks per person
