After learning and mastering the basic sewing techniques, this class will specialize in some individualized advanced techniques/solutions for completed garment. The format will include, demonstrations, practice and making samples for your notebook. More emphasis will be placed on overall design criteria and techniques, individual solutions to your specific problems. Topics included: - Pattern development - modifications from muslin, sizing, copying a garment and draping - Using multiple materials for one garment - Design principles - Varied collars and necklines - Varied sleeves including: two part sleeves, sleeve closures and options for changing lengths - Modifying pattern pieces by combining pieces, dividing pieces - Modify pattern for bustline fit - Hems - Topstitching and hand picking.

This course is offered at a 20% discount from our normal classes.

Materials provided by instructor:Examples of all sewing samples, youtube videos of techniques 

Students should bring: Sewing machine, serger - if you have one, if desired your own created material, 5 yards muslin, 5 yards blue gridded "interfacing", long quilting ruler
