This is a great class for anyone who already knows how to knit and purl and would like to create a project that looks complicated, but is truly delightfully simple to make. Together we will knit a sample so you can create triangle scarves and shawls of any size in the future! We will discuss various pattern options, using color and texture. We will learn/review how to make a stitch (increase), knit two together (decrease), and you’ll have the option of learning the picot bind-off to add extra flair to your triangle scarf. Beginners are welcome: it would be helpful if you can practice knitting and purling beforehand, or at least watch some knitting Youtube videos.

Level: Intermediate

Materials Fee: $0

Teacher supplies: Handout, samples, and extra stitch markers.

Students should bring: Please bring a pair of straight or round needles and yarn of at least two colors (same weight). Stitch-markers and scissors would also be helpful. Purls Yarn Emporium in Asheville has a great selection for any of your knitting needs.

Registration: Members $100, Non-members $120

Instructor: bio Sandra Hartmannsgruber
