If you have or want an inkle loom but don’t know how to warp it, help is on the way. In this session you will learn how to make string heddles, plan a warp and warp the loom. We’ll discuss which yarns work well, which should be avoided. Color determines the pattern in inkle weaving, so we will cover color selection as well. While this class is offered for those taking the class on weaving edgings, you do not have to take both classes.

Level: Beginner

Members: $50

Non members: $60

Instructor: Sue Helmken (Read Sue's bio)

Materials fee: optional yarn fee $10, optional loom rental fee $15 (to be collected day of class)

Materials supplied by teacher: printed instructions, extra weft yarns, optional yarn purchase, loom rental [includes loom, shuttle and heddles]

Materials students should bring: warped inkle loom, belt shuttle [unless renting from teacher] , a variety of weft yarns, scissors, tapestry needle, small ruler or seam gauge.
